About
Overview
Dr Saunders received his PhD from The University of Sydney in 2011. Before joining City, in January 2024 as a Senior Lecturer, he held postdoctoral research positions at the University of Bristol, the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland, City and was a Senior Lecturer at the University of Greenwich.
Dr Saunders' research is in Geometric Representation Theory, a branch of abstract algebra and geometry that aims to 'quantify symmetry' in a very broad sense.
He is a Senior Fellow of AdvanceHE and enjoys giving outreach talks on mathematics and related areas to general audiences.
