Maria joined City University London in 1995. She is a Senior Lecturer and nurse and she specialises in teaching biology (including pharmacology, microbiology, pathology, anatomy and physiology) to nurses, midwives and biomedical engineers at both undergraduate and post graduate levels.
Maria originally undertook her nurse training at The Royal London Hospital Whitechapel. Following some time spent in Intensive Care Units, Cardiothoracic nursing and as a Bed Manager, Maria went into nurse education and obtained a BA in Nurse Education from the University of Manchester.
Since then she has obtained an MSc in Physiology - her research for this focussed on orthostatic changes in blood pressure.
