Jane joined The City Law School 5 years ago, having previously worked for the school in the early days of the Legal Practice Course. She is now our Associate Dean for Student Experience.
Jane is a non-practising solicitor (England and Wales) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Prior to teaching she worked in private practice undertaking family and private client work.
Jane first started teaching on the LPC in 2001 when she joined the Inns of Court School of Law before it was renamed The City Law School. Jane leads the School’s initiatives on student engagement and has been instrumental in introducing student cafes, micro pigs and chicks to the law school. Jane is currently implementing a pilot Academic Adviser programme and Student Minds peer to peer support programme. Jane established one of the School’s existing Pro Bono Clinics, in conjunction with Travers Smith and Lewis Silkin. The clinic continues to support the local community and our students to date.
She is also a senior lecturer on the Solicitor Training Courses and her teaching includes Private Client, Litigation, Interviewing and Advising and Property. She was previously an external examiner for the Legal Practice Course at Hertfordshire University. Jane is a regular volunteer with LawCare and an active member of the University Coaching Network. She is currently undertaking her Level 5 Apprenticeship in Coaching.
