About
Overview
Ffyon Reilly graduated in History from University College London. After working as a Management Consultant for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture ) for three years, she was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2000. Ffyon practised at the Bar and holds a current practising certificate and Tenancy.
Ffyon is the Assistant Dean of Clinical Legal Education and oversees the University Legal Advice Clinics and our Pro Bono, Public Legal Education and Clinical Legal Education programs.
LLM in Professional Legal Skills and Bar Professional Training
Ffyon is the Programme Director for the LLM in Professional Legal Skills, and has designed and runs the BPTC LLM pathways. She runs the BPTC post graduate masters programme and supervises post graduate LLM students in Employment and Company Law.
She is the Programme Director for the LLM in Clinical Legal Project. including the Free Representation Employment Option. Ffyon has worked in industry and has active role in the universities Athena Swan team in the advancement of Gender Equality. Ffyon also lectures on the Employment team at City on the BPTC. Ffyon has an academic interest in Discrimination and Unfair Dismissal.
Ffyon designed and conceived the Clinical Legal BPTC LLM Pathway. This is one of the first masters programmes that enables students (combined with the Bar Vocational Course) to undertake clinical legal work, as part of a masters qualification. Ffyon manages the relationships with the different clinical project partners on the LLM
Advocacy teaching and Training
Ffyon is an ATC accredited advocacy trainer. She has delivered advocacy training and assessment to external partners including the Crown Prosecution Service.
Ffyon is the Pupillage Advice Service's lead at City. She manages relationships with Chambers and delivers a comprehensive package of events and workshops to prepare students for pupillage application and interview.
Ffyon volunteers for the Free Representation Unit in the Employment Tribunal and the Bar Pro Bono Unit.
Publications and Memberships
Ffyon is a tenant at Castle Chambers. She is published in the Financial Times Series, Counsel Magazine and is a contributor to Pearsons 2019 The English Legal System ( chapters 19-21 ). She is currently contributing a chapter on the Youth Court to the 2020 edition. She is a member of the Industrial Law Society, the Criminal Bar Association, ALBA and is a member of Inner Temple.

Unfair Dismissal
Undertaking an analysis of court judgements and tribunal decisions focusing on the discretionary elements of the provisions of the statute, in particular the use of a reasonableness test for dismissals for conduct, capability, ill health and redundancy
