Funding & financial support
Postgraduate study at City University London is an affordable option for students from wide-ranging backgrounds. Although you will usually have to pay for postgraduate study yourself, many sources of funding exist, including scholarships, studentships and professional development loans. And during your time at City you can get financial advice and support from our award-winning Student Centre.
Scholarships
As well as University Scholarships, some of our individual Schools and departments offer their own scholarships.
University Doctoral Studentships
Fully-funded, full-time, three-year Doctoral Studentships are available to a limited number of outstanding students. To find out if you might be eligible, contact your School, department or centre.
The Alternative Guide to Postgraduate Funding
Contact us to request a free copy of this book, which includes details of many charity organisations that offer funding to postgraduate students.
Professional and Career Development Loans
If you are unable to get funding from scholarships, studentships or other sources, you can apply for a professional and career development loan. These loans are to help you pay tuition fees and living expenses.
US Federal Aid
City participates in the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program (Direct Loans) which can provide funding to cover your tuition fees and living expenses, subject to approval by the Student Centre.
