Marios joined the School in September 2011 and teaches Constitutional/ Administrative and European Union Law. He previously taught at Queen Mary University and the University of Essex.
Marios completed his LLB at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 2005 and is a qualified lawyer and Member of the Cyprus Bar Association. He received an LLM in European Union Law from the University of Essex in 2007 and is now completing his PhD studies at the University of Essex. Marios's principal research interests lie in the field of European Union Law.
The fall of the Santer Commission in 1999 marks the start of his personal interest in accountability in the European Union. He is currently investigating legal accountability and the rules on standing of private parties seeking judicial review in the light of the Court's of Justice restrictive jurisprudence. His future plans are to build on the foundations of his PhD work to examine further how the alternative system ensuring legal and political accountability within the European Union could be.
