Jason Chuah
Head of Academic Law
Jason is Head of Academic Law at The City Law School. He has held scholarships from Barclays Bank and the UK Overseas Development Authority at St Johns College, Cambridge University. He was the holder of the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust Award and the Cambridge Commonwealth Fellowship and also has a Certificate in Export with Distinction from the Institute of Export, winning the Clive Schmitthoff Commercial Law prize and the Sweet & Maxwell book prize.
Jason has been on the World Intellectual Property Organisation's list of specialist speakers in e-commerce, and was a speaker for the International Securities Markets Association training courses. He is also an Executive Director of the London Universities Maritime Law and Policy Group and has been nominated three times for the Oxford University Press Award for Best Law Teacher of the Year.
He is a peer review of the Arts and Humanities Research Council and has been involved in various consultations with the Ministry of Justice, the OECD, the ICC, the Association of British Insurers, the UNCITRAL, etc.
Jason's PhD students have worked on Cross Border Insolvency Law, Sea based Oil Pollution Funds in China, Credit Default Swaps, Internet Banking Services, Electronic Bills of Lading, Aviation Law and Regulation, Insolvency Law and, the Music Industry and EU Merger Regulation.

Jason is on the Editorial Board for Journal of International Maritime Law (Lawtext), Shipping and Trade Law (Informa), International Company and Commercial Law Review (Sweet & Maxwell), International Trade Law and Regulation (Sweet & Maxwell) and Finance and Credit Law (Singlelaw). His articles have been cited by tribunals in the US, the EU and England, including the Court of Justice of the EU.
