The main University Library at Northampton Square provides printed resources, study spaces, networked PCs and wireless internet access across five floors.

Study spaces

The library offers a range of innovative study spaces for students wishing to study individually or work collaboratively with colleagues.

Our study floors are clearly identified as either Group Study or Silent Study areas. Please familiarise yourself with the Information Services Code of Conduct and the local guidelines displayed around the study floors.

Services

Books can be borrowed and returned at our self-service counter on level 2. This floor also houses our 24 hour loan collection in a dedicated space adjacent to the main service desk. In addition, we have self-service machines located on level 5, in close proximity to the main book collection.

Vending machines to top up Copycards, for our photocopying machines, and add credit to your print account are located on level 2.

Assistance with library access and registration is offered at the Service Desk on level 2 during staffed hours. Our staff will also be happy to assist if you need to collect a reserved item, pick up and Interlibrary loan or store request or pay a library fine.

Computers

There are over 100 networked computers in the library. Approximately 50 are located on level 2 and 3 with additional computers in the silent study lab on level 4.

Photocopying and printing

Photocopiers are located on levels 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the library within easy reach of stock.

Printers are located on levels 2, 3 and in the silent study lab on level 4.

All students have a unified account for printing and photocopying. This can be topped up on self-service kiosks or at your Library Service Desk.

Kiosks are located on level 2 of the Library and in the IT Service Centre (room E101, Drysdale Building). The kiosks accept cash and card payments.

Visitors should ask the Library Service Desk to obtain a photocopy pass.
