Club Chairman Gareth: “The City Rugby Club has made fantastic strides over the last 3 years, with the men’s team having been undefeated at home within that time and a new women’s team being established. The Women’s currently play friendlies with a good record and the Men’s team has won around 85% of their league matches in the last 3 years – being promoted twice and reaching the semi-finals of their cup this year.
"Although we are a highly competitive club, there are no trials; we accept students of all abilities, even if you’ve never played rugby before. Everyone is welcome to come train with us, improve their fitness, and contribute to the fantastic social life that revolves around the club. We aim to be as inclusive as possible, and endeavour everyone who wants to play matches gets a game."
Women's Captain Anouchka: 'We are the Lil Babas! We're a collaborative team from City, Westminster, UWL, UAL and SOAS. We had a great start last year with a couple of friendly matches and planning on playing a whole lot more this year. You don't need to have had any experience in rugby before, just some enthusiasm and a positive attitude! We have socials hosted by different universities each time so there's always plenty of new people to meet. We're a diverse and fun-loving bunch and would love to expand the team even further. So whether you want to learn and compete in a new sport or just want to get moving and have fun, we'd love to get to know you!"
