Journalism and Media

In a world where technology is driving the decentralisation of news, the need for qualified communications experts to gather information, investigate, verify and analyse information has never been greater.

Our Journalism and Media courses are designed to prepare you for a career in both traditional and emerging communication roles.

We enjoy close links with media professionals. Our central London location means we are close to some of the world’s leading media organisations.

Graduates of City Journalism programmes are working as reporters, broadcasters, anchors, feature writers in the UK and internationally. 2017 celebrates our 40th year of providing world leading journalism education. This year we have also been ranked 1st in London and 7th in the UK for Journalism in the Guardian University Guide 2017.

Our MA Media and Communications students also achieve great success, with 100% of students in employment six months after graduating (DHLE 2015). These have been in roles such as: civil service, broadcasting, press and telecoms networks, NGOs, the development sector and consultancies, advertising, marketing, politics, journalism, PR, media management and regulatory agencies.
