City, University of London is at the forefront of this industry thanks to our long-standing commitment to ensure we offer the latest bespoke courses which facilitate the needs of the future computing industry. This includes the development of our new Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things (IoT) with Entrepreneurship courses, which offer the latest technologies, facilities and teaching methods. Students will have access to the City Launch Lab, a dedicated space to help them launch a business and create a product. Our dedicated Professional Liaison Unit (PLU) team work across the School of Mathematics, Computer Science & Engineering to help you find work placements in a company that suits you, with the potential for a future career, thanks to our strong links with industry. We mentor our students with the intention that they will contribute to shaping our future programmes, helping us to remain a key player in this multi-billion pound UK industry.

City offers a variety of information technology-related courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, research and foundation levels, with over 80% of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes carrying industry accreditation (Data Science pending). These degrees span across the entire Computing subject area, with various career-focused specialisms including:

Research

Our internationally renowned research has a long-standing focus on software systems, engineering and information-intensive systems. Our academic staff come from a variety of research backgrounds and typically have published material, offering particular expertise within a specific field. We develop novel, enduring and experimentally validated concepts, theories and methods with a wide range of industrial partners in the UK and overseas.

City is ideally situated for anybody wishing to start their career or progress within the information technology industry. We are situated within The City of London, a historical area of Londinium settled by the Romans in 1AD and contained inside the original city walls. It is widely viewed as the centre of London and boasts our capitals Central Business District, in addition to numerous smaller creative districts. City, University of London sits in the centre of the Clerkenwell district, only a stone's throw from the largest cluster of technology companies in Europe, Tech City. Here, you will find industry leading names such as Facebook, Google and Twitter directly on your doorstep.
