Study at City

Your City experience is likely to be filled with discoveries, new friends and new adventures, but there may also be times when you experience health problems or need help dealing with personal issues. We understand the pressures that our students face, and we put energy and effort into making sure help is available.

Health Service

Visit our Health Service for medical advice, help registering with a doctor (GP), immunisation services and support with disabilities. The Health Service is run by a nurse who can assess any health issues you experience and tell you if you need to see a GP.

Immunisations are available at the Health Service, including Meningitis C vaccinations (for students who are 24 or under) and Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccinations.

Students with disabilities

Our dedicated Disability Service is here to help you get the most out of your time at City. Book a one-to-one session with a member of our team; we can advise you on legal entitlements (benefits), how your disability affects your studies, making adjustments to help you learn and achieve, special examination arrangements, funding options and support workers. We also liaise with your tutors and other academic staff to make sure you get the support you need.

Dyslexia and learning support

If you are a student with dyslexia or another specific learning difficulty you can get specialist help from our dedicated Dyslexia Service. City's Dyslexia Service provides a range of services to help you study effectively and enjoy City life, including dyslexia screenings, dyslexia assessments, needs assessments, one-to-one support, advice on funding and special examination arrangements. We will also speak to your tutors and other academic staff to make sure you get the help you need.

Faith and religion

City provides a warm welcome to students from all religious backgrounds and faiths. You will find space on campus to pray, reflect and practise your religion. We can also help you contact local religious leaders and find local places of worship. Our Chaplaincy and Faith Advisory Team is here to support all students, of all faiths and none.
