If you have been unsuccessful in securing funding though a scholarship, bursary or grant you might want to consider applying for a loan to help fund your studies.
New Postgraduate Loan from the Government
This is a new loan of up to £10,000 for postgraduate Masters level study. The loan is a contribution towards the cost of postgraduate masters level study, and can be used towards tuition fees, maintenance costs or a combination of both. The loan is non-means tested and is paid directly to the student in three equal instalments. Applications are now open and take between 4-6 weeks to be processed.
Professional and Career Development Loans
Professional and Career Development Loans are bank loans of between £300 and £10,000 which can help students cover their course tuition fees and living expenses. Loans are normally offered at reduced interest rates and the government covers the interest charges whilst you are studying. Further information is available here.
Future Finance Loans
Future Finance offers students loans of between £2,500 and £40,000 to help cover tuition fees and living expenses. All students and courses are considered. All loans are subject to credit checks and approval for further details please visit the Future Finance website.

- Postgraduate students studying in the UK for a Masters' level of ECTS 60-120
- Completed a Bachelors or equivalent outside of the UK
About the loan
- Borrow up to £9,300 for courses up to 12 months or up to £13,900 for longer courses
- Interest rate from 6.5% - 8.5%
- No repayments until 1 year after graduation, full repayments thereafter over 6 to 10 years
- Repay early at any time at no extra cost
- Apply for an up to 12 month repayment holiday
- Representative 8.3% APR (variable)
