The Department of Music at City provides an opportunity to study music in a friendly and informal atmosphere and offers access to excellent facilities. There are two types of courses available for study abroad students, courses for non-specialists, and courses for students who are music majors/minors

Students would take two music ensembles, the list of possible ensembles changes every year but we expect the following to be available in 2019/20:

  • Chamber Choir
  • Jazz and Improvisation Ensemble
  • African Dance and Drumming
  • Experimental Ensemble
  • Civitas (choir)
  • Field Recording
  • Balkan
  • Javanese Gamelan
  • Balianese Gamelan
  • Chamber Orchestra (restricted to students who are available for January and May assessments)
