City's Actuarial Science faculty is the longest established and largest such department in England. Actuarial Science offers a broad knowledge of mathematics, statistics and economics along with an in-depth understanding of applications to investment, insurance and pensions.
As the subject relies on a high level of proficiency in mathematics, statistics, economics and computing; courses are generally open only to actuarial science or similar majors.
