SHS International Excellence Scholarships (IES)
We are offering a number of SHS International Excellence Scholarships of £1000-£5000 to international students applying for a place on one of our post-registration MSc programmes. Please note that MSc Speech and Language Therapy and MSc Adult and Mental Health Nursing applicants are not eligilble for this Scholarship.
The scholarships will be awarded to applicants who demonstrate academic and clinical and/or professional excellence. Applicants must have an offer of a full-time place and be studying for the full MSc on one of SHS’s postgraduate programmes (those applying for the PG Cert or PG Diploma will unfortunately not be eligible). Please note students cannot be in receipt of more than one scholarship/bursary.
Application and selection
Awards are competitive and will be awarded for academic and clinical excellence as well as for exceptional innovation in enterprise
The decisions will be made by a selection panel and will be final.
To apply, please complete the official scholarships form, including a statement of no more than 500 words. This statement will be in addition to the personal statement used for the programme application and should focus on why you believe you should be awarded this scholarship. You could include references to projects or initiatives that you have undertaken in which you have exceeded or work that you have done that have improved practice or how this scholarship could help you advance practice in your chosen area. Please email your completed application form to our Postgraduate Administration team at email@example.com stating your full name and student number together with the full name of the course for which you have registered.
Applications for September 2020 and January 2021 are now being considered on a rolling basis. We look forward to receiving your application.
The deadline for September applicants is: Tuesday 18th August 2020 – Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the deadline has been extended.
The deadline for January applicants is: Monday 7th December 2020.
A selection panel will shortlist candidates on merit and the top candidates will be awarded the scholarships. The amount will be deducted from the September 2018 tuition fee installment of a full-time student. For part-time students, the awarded amount will be deducted from the September 2018 and September 2019 tuition fee installments.
