Aimed at total beginners, our Spanish Parts 1 & 2 Combined course allows students to study part 1 and part 2 of the Beginners course in just 10 weeks, starting in January.
Whether learning Spanish for travelling, working abroad or with foreign companies, the Spanish Beginners Parts 1 & 2 Combined course will enable you to communicate confidently on a basic level in everyday situations, socialise and not feel out of place when visiting Spanish-speaking countries.
This accelerated Spanish short course is an introduction to the Spanish language and way of life for the purpose of practical communication. Challenging but rewarding, the course is perfectly suited to those looking to develop a basic command of Spanish.
The course consists of two lessons per week (evenings), for a total of 10 weeks. During this time you will cover parts 1 and 2 of the standard Spanish Beginners (Year 1) course. On completion of the course you can enrol on part 3 of the Spanish Beginners course in the summer term, if you choose to continue your learning.
Our language short courses are taught by qualified native speakers and delivered at City, University of London’s main campus, in the heart of the capital.
You’ve heard Spanish people greeting one another, sometimes with ¿Cómo estás? and other times with ¿Cómo está Usted? and wonder what the difference is. On your next visit to Madrid, you would like to be able to order your favourite tapas dishes in Spanish, present your friend to your Spanish-speaking colleagues and describe your family, interests, likes and dislikes.
Our lessons focus on language that is required for communicating in authentic situations making each lesson as dynamic as possible, with lots of speaking and group work. In our relaxed and friendly classes we use a communicative teaching approach, enabling you to build up confidence to communicate in everyday situations, socialise and not feel out of place when visiting the country.
The Spanish Beginners Parts 1 & 2 Combined short course is designed for complete beginners with no prior knowledge of the Spanish language.
If you are not a complete beginner and have some prior knowledge of Spanish, you may wish to join our Spanish Lower Intermediate course or join part 2 or part 3 of the Spanish Beginners course. You can check your level using our online guidelines.
