Do you need to learn Japanese quickly for work or for travel? Master basic Japanese for communication with City, University of London’s brand new Learn Japanese language course. Over the course of one week in the summer you will learn the fundamentals of Japanese communication, including greetings, introductions, shopping, essential cultural norms and practical tools to get around in Japan (such as understanding and purchasing travel cards, how to use the ‘elusive washerettes’ and so on).
This dynamic Japanese summer school, taught by our highly skilled Japanese language tutor, Takayuki Ogura, incorporates playful activities to build your understanding of Japanese grammar and vocabulary and Japanese customs.
This highly practical course teaches you how to speak Japanese - you will learn to introduce yourself, people you know and things you have. You will also be taught some important Japanese characters.
By the end of the five day Learn Japanese course you will be able to communicate confidently at a basic level in Japanese and have developed a solid understanding of Japanese culture and way of life. You will be able to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases, particularly in relation to work or travel. You will be able to interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.
