Medical Magnetic Resonance imaging plays a major role in an ever increasing number of hospitals; both in the National Health Service and Private Sector, the clinical practitioner must now be able to function confidently and competently in this rapidly advancing speciality. In order to achieve this it is important that you have a sound background knowledge in the physics upon which Medical Magnetic Resonance Imaging is based and be equipped with the ability to make judgements ranging from the suitability of specific pulse sequences for a particular procedure through to equipment evaluation and selection for the purchase.
This module will enable you to safely and accurately perform the procedures required to assist in the diagnosis of the patient's condition and implement the Quality Assurance measures which are required to provide a consistent high quality service. It will also enable you to attain an understanding of the core principles of Medical Magnetic Resonance and associated instrumentation. You can then apply this material safely and appropriately to the clinical situation in order to become a confident, reflective and critically aware practitioner while enabling you to work towards advanced and consultant practitioner status.
This module will equip you with the ability to undertake service evaluation and research in this clinical speciality that is underpinned by clear strategy and innovation and contribute to the advancement and maintenance of best practice in clinical Medical Magnetic Resonance.

Applicants should have at least one year of clinical experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging and be in clinical practice for a minimum of three days per week.
Non EEA students can only apply as part of a programme, not as a stand-alone module.
