Course overview

The aim of this course is to provide a brief overview of the principles and philosophy of palliative and end of life care. Highlighting how this can be applied to compassionately support people across a range of care-settings.

In addition to considering the palliative care needs of people with diverse long-term conditions, the provision of excellent palliative care will be linked to the reality of everyday clinical practice and the importance of getting the basics right.

The course will also consider the complexity of issues around supporting the physical, psychological, spiritual and social needs of the individual and those of the family.
