This one day course is intended to be an introduction/update in minor injuries and ailments for school nurses. It covers the following:

  • Musculoskeletal assessment
    • General principles
    • Fractures and soft tissue injuries
    • Common upper and lower limb injuries
  • Minor head injuries, concussion and facial injuries
  • Pain assessment and management
  • Common ENT presentations
  • Common ophthalmology presentations
  • Assessment and management of acute wounds and burns
  • Steri-strip and tissue adhesive workshop
