The Foundation programme at City, University of London has been designed for practice nurses who are new to the general practice setting. The taught compoments of these two modules provide important skills for practice nurses to enable and facilitate their development in key specific areas. There is a strong emphaiss on having an evidence base to inform practice and clinical decisions. Each module is available at level 6 (undergraduate) or level 7 (postgraduate level).
Your choice of whether you undertake level 6 or level 7 needs to be considered. This is especially important if you wish to have these credits recognised, as part of our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Requirements. In this instance, students who have obtained relevant level HE 6 or HE 7 credits through CPPD study in the five years before registering on the programme can apply to use RPL to transfer a maximum of 30 credits towards the award of either BSc/Graduate Diploma Primary Care Practice Nurse programme or a Post Graduate Diploma Primary Care Practice Nurse programme. For students wishing to register to the Post Graduate Primary Care Practice Nurse programme, you must have been awarded either a First or a 2.1 honours classification for your undergraduate nursing degree to be considered for this programme.
