Course overview

The Post Graduate ultrasound course team at City, University of London is delighted to invite you to the first City early pregnancy ultrasound study day The event will be of interest to sonographers, gynae nurses, clinicians and other professionals working in the field of early pregnancy.

Speakers and talks include:

  • Dr Susanne Johnson, Princess Anne Hospital, Southampton: Caesarean scar pregnancy
  • Dr Fred Ushakov, University College Hospital, London: Ultrasound detection of fetal anomalies in the first trimester
  • Miss Emma Kirk, the Royal Free Hospital, London: Ultrasound in the diagnosis of miscarriage
  • Roxanne Sicklen, the Royal Free Hospital, London: Non tubal ectopic pregnancy, Effective and compassionate communication in the early pregnancy unit
  • Miss Jackie Ross, King's College Hospital, London: Gestational trophoblastic disease

The day will commence at 9.30am with registration and coffee, lunch and afternoon refreshments will be provided.

If you are a student currently registered on the Obstetric module (RDM031), please DO NOT book via this webpage.

Second year students who completed RDM031 last year are eligible to a discounted rate for this study day.

Course outcomes

The day will include talks on a range of early pregnancy ultrasound subjects and the opportunity to ask the expert in question and answer sessions.

RDM031 Students will get access to lectures aligned with learning outcomes of the module.



Prerequisite knowledge

The course is aimed at Sonographers, Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit Nurses and Doctors in the RCOG training programme.



RDM031 students will be assessed as part of their module.

Short Course delegates are not required to do an assessment.
