The day consists of a complete cytology update as required by the NHS Cervical Screening Programme and covers the following:
You will receive a certificate of attendance that can be used as part of your:
-CPD requirement (35 hours of Continuing professional development in the past 3 years)
-NMC registration (and from the end of 2015 it can be used for revalidation)
-NHS Cervical Screening Programme for sample takers 3 yearly update requirement
Applicants must be a registered nurse and have experience as cervical sample takers. Please note upon booking your place, you will be contacted to confirm your NMC pin number.
Applicants must be proficient in spoken and written English.

Val McMunn
Val McMunn is a qualified nurse, midwife, teacher, Independent nurse prescriber and is employed as a lecturer at City, University of London in contraception, sexual health and cytology.
Val holds an MSc in Public Health, a Post Graduate Certificate in Sexual health as is an Associate of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and holds a letter of competence for intra uterine techniques and subdermal Implants.
She currently works clinically within contraception/sexual health services where she maintains her clinical skills and knowledge.
