This module provides you with the underpinning academic knowledge and clinical experience needed to enable you to become a competent clinical practitioner in a wide range of abdominal ultrasound examinations.
You will develop your knowledge, understanding and ability to perform, interpret and report on diagnostic abdominal ultrasound examinations in a competent and professional manner, whilst being able to respond to changes in working practice and apply new techniques after critically evaluating them. You will develop the skills to be able to critically review management options for a range of common pathologies.
The module will facilitate the extended role of the practitioner by encouraging the skills of reflection and analysis so that you can critically appraise current practice, propose and develop improvements in practice and so improve the service to the patient and the effectiveness of the ultrasound department.
