Course overview

The course aims to:

  • Provide the professional with an increased knowledge and understanding of the mental health needs of children and adolescents
  • Allow you to identify, critically discuss and analyse the range of factors and influences that impact on emotional and behavioural development
  • Help you to consider the operational factors needed to institute best practices in childcare and to critically evaluate the major child development theories.

This module can be taken as part of the BSc Nursing Studies top up degree. If you wish to complete a top-up degree, please apply directly on the Nursing Studies programme webpage. If you would still like to complete this module as a CPPD student but would like to complete a top-up degree at a later date, please note that you will only be able to transfer a maximum of 30 credits which have been awarded within 5 years prior to the start date of the programme (top-up degree).
