The giCentre is based in the Department of Computer Science at City and specialises in developing and applying new techniques for visualising data.
This ranges from visualization of 'big data' to personalised data presentation, from visual analytics to visual story telling, from cartography and GIS to statistical graphics.
We are a team of 14 academics and researchers with expertise in:
- Information visualization
- Cartography
- Design
- Computer graphics
- Human-computer interaction
- Geographic information science.
As well as innovating in information and analytic visualization, we work extensively with a range of applied practitioners.
