Career perspectives

Studying Criminology at City, on its own or as Criminology and Psychology, as Criminology and Sociology or with Criminal Justice, will help you understand why crime is a defining issue for our society and so prominent in popular culture.

The valuable transferable skills you learn, like critical thinking, data analysis, report writing, presentation skills and teamwork, open up a wide range of career options, and these are enhanced by our central London location, with close links to institutions of government, policymaking, policing and the media.

A degree in Criminology will prepare you for a career as a criminologist or in the police, prisons, forensic psychology, offender management, youth justice, probation service, social work, community safety and research.
