Counselling Skills Workshop Course overview
This popular course has run successfully for a number of years and has appeal and relevance to those seeking to enhance their interpersonal skills in the workplace.
The course is an excellent introduction to counselling skills and prepares students for professional level training in Counselling Psychology.
Workshop Tutor
Dr Charlotte Whiteley is an experienced group facilitator who integrates a wide variety of experiential teaching strategies in her approach to training.
Charlotte is experienced both clinically and academically as a chartered counselling psychologist and systemic practitioner.

Teaching
Initially, the course tutor will introduce you to the theoretical aspects of the three major models in counselling, namely Person-Centred, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
After this grounding in theory, students will be divided into small groups where they will have a chance to role-play within the different models, thus linking theory with practice.
The workshop typically culminates with volunteers taking part in a family therapy session role-play, which is usually not only informative but also very enjoyable.

There is no formal assessment.

No previous qualifications or experience is required.
