Paying deposits and fees

We aim to provide as clear advice as possible about the process by which you will need to pay your deposits and fees.

The fees are payable as follows:

September 2020 intake

  • Deposit upon acceptance
  • 50% (minus deposit payment) at registration
  • 50% by the last working day of January 2021.

Part-time fees are charged on a pro-rata basis.

All payments must be made in pounds sterling. Acceptable methods of payment are:

  • Credit/Debit Card payment (preferred method). To do this you will need your student number (included in your offer letter) and should visit our online payment site. You should print out the receipt you receive and include this with your acceptance form.
  • Sterling cheque made payable to City, University of London.
  • Bank Transfer.

If you use bank giro credit to make a payment, pay a cheque into the University bank account at a bank, or transfer money from abroad, there will be a delay before we can credit the payment to your account, as we have first to identify it. We are not always given the name of the payee for payments made this way. The delay can be avoided if you ensure that your bank quotes your name, student number and the name of the course that you are studying when making payment to us. The bank should also be able to give you a receipt or a remittance advice which you should send to the Admissions Office along with your acceptance form.

Please see your offer documents for the University's bank details.

If your fees are being paid by a sponsor they will need to complete a Sponsorship Form (SP1). Please return the sponsorship form to the Finance Office, Northampton Square, London, EC1V 0HB before attempting to register online.

Please note that students who have already completed a course at City, University of London are eligible for City's Graduate Loyalty Discount which is a 10% reduction off your fees (deducted from the second instalment of your fees).

If you require any support in this process, the Income Team will be able to help you. For further information, please email us at registration-finance@city.ac.uk.

Please visit the payment methods and instalment scheme pages for further details.
