Confirming and registering for your place in Aviation Management
Everything you need to know on how to confirm your place and register online.
What do I need to do to confirm my place?
Upon receiving an offer for the Induction Workshop, the offer is valid for twelve months from the date of the offer letter, after which you will have to re-apply.
Please respond to your offer as soon as you are able, letting us know that you would like to take up your place at the Induction Workshop and also when you plan to attend.
In order to fully confirm your place, you also need to complete online registration (see below) and pay the Induction Workshop fee. The fee for the Induction Workshop for the 2020/21 academic year is £800. This fee is non-refundable.
What happens at online registration?
In order to confirm your place at City and begin your studies you must register for your course.
Once you have accepted your offer you will receive an email from the City, University of London Registry team which will take you through the next steps for online registration . Please note that this email will contain important details required for the online registration process and therefore you are not able to complete online registration until you have received it.
During the online registration process you will be asked to confirm your course and personal details (full name, address, date of birth, etc). You will also be prompted to pay the fee for the Induction Workshop. You do not have to complete the online registration all at once, you can return to it later, however, please note that you will not be able to attend the Induction Workshop until you have completed this process and paid your fee in full.
Once you have completed online registration you will need to upload your passport and/or visa so we can verify your identity and nationality before you can become a fully registered student of City, University of London. Please note that you will not be a registered student of the University until you have completed both stages of registration.
What happens after I accept my place?
Once you have accepted your place and paid the Induction Workshop fee, keep a look out for emails from us - we will contact you by email if we need any further information from you, and to keep you up to date with news about your programme, from the university and the School of Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering.
We will send you information to help you to prepare for the Induction Workshop as well as details about what to expect when you arrive. Please read these carefully to make sure you are fully prepared.
How do I make my offer from conditional to unconditional?
If your offer is conditional, you will need to provide any outstanding documents to show that you have met the conditions of your offer. You can send these to us via email on email@example.com. Please include your nine-digit application number in any emails to us.
Starting your MSc Aviation Management programme
Once you have successfully passed the Induction Workshop you will receive an unconditional offer letter for your MSc Aviation Management programme. You have a year to take up your place on the MSc Aviation Management from the date of this letter. Please note, if you do not register within 12 months, you are required to complete the Induction Workshop again, including the payment of the non-refundable Induction Workshop fee.
In your offer letter you will be asked to complete a form to let us know when you would like to start your course. Available intakes are as follows:
- 1 February
- 1 May
Once you have selected your intake you will need to choose and attend your first module before the next intake.
Registering for the MSc Aviation Management
The Registration process for your MSc will be largely similar to that for the Induction Workshop described above. For each year that you study at City you will receive an email from our Registry team asking you to complete online registration and organise payment of your fees (if applicable).
Please note that your intake date will be the annual date by which you will be asked to re-register and pay fees for the MSc programme. This date is referred to as your course anniversary date.
How long is my course?
We would normally expect MSc Aviation Management students to take up to three years to complete eight taught modules and the final project dissertation.
You must complete the MSc within five years of your intake date as this is the maximum period of registration.
