Organising your finances
Financial support and planning is a key issue for postgraduate students. Find out what support is available to you.
Funding your study
We recognise that our students all have different financial circumstances, and planning how to fund both your tuition fees and your living expenses differs from person to person.
Our Funding and Financial support pages will give you details of the various options open to postgraduate students in funding their study.
The City Law School is firmly committed to a generous programme of scholarships awarded on the basis of academic excellence. Our scholarships range in value and include both partial and full fee waiver awards. They are open to students across all of our programmes and both home and international students are strongly encouraged to apply. For further details and information on how to apply please see our Financing your study pages.
Private providers such as Future Finance can also offer a commercial loan to help cover either fees, living expenses or both.
City, University of London has a dedicated Student Financial Support Team who can talk you through the various options available to you, and can provide resources to help you plan for living in London.
Paying deposits and fees
We aim to provide as clear advice as possible about the process by which you will need to pay your deposits and fees.
Fees are usually paid in two instalments: 50% (minus the deposit) at registration and 50% in January. Fees can be paid online (as part of online registration) or by cheque or bank transfer.
If your fees are being paid by a sponsor they will need to complete a Sponsorship Form (SP1), which can be found on our paying fees and refunds pages. Please return the sponsorship form to the Finance Office, Northampton Square, London, EC1V 0HB before attempting to register online.
If you have been awarded a scholarship by a body other than City, please send a copy of your scholarship letter to the Admissions Department, 4 Gray's Inn Place, London, WC1R 5DX or email email@example.com before attempting to register online.
