Mathematics with Finance and Economics BSc (Hons)
Wendy Wang

Wendy was awarded the Worshipful Company of Leathersellers Scholarship in 2013.

I graduated from City University London in 2013 with a BSc (Hons) in Mathematical Science with Finance and Economics.

I was awarded the Worshipful Company of Leathersellers' Scholarship, and it was a great honour to receive this prestigious award.

Having moved from China to the UK with my parents when I was young, I found it difficult at first as the language was the biggest problem, I had to start my GCSEs again and everything was completely different to what I had learned in China, apart from Maths. I studied Maths and Further Maths at A/AS Level, and my hard work paid off, I achieved my grades and was awarded the Worshipful Company of Leathersellers Scholarship at City.

Looking back at my time at City, I really enjoyed my course, not just the Maths modules but also the Economics and Finance modules of the degree, especially Algebra and Mathematical Communication, which are both interesting and logical. The lecturers are knowledgeable, friendly, and intelligent, who were always willing to give us lots of support and feedback throughout the course and prepared us for exams.

Upon graduating, I have decided to continue my studies and undertake a MSc Maths degree at University College London.
