Claudia Dalmao Gomez

Claudia is a 2nd year LLB Law student. Before coming to City, Claudia studied at a British school based in Valencia, Spain.

What were you doing before you came to study at City?

I went to Caxton College, a British School in Valencia, Spain.

Why did you decide to apply to study at City, University of London?

I decided to apply to City because it is the first institution in London to teach law and I believe it has both, a lot of experience and a well-renowned reputation in this area. What I really like about my degree is that you have the opportunity of going one term or one year abroad to one of City’s partner institutions.

What is your favourite thing about studying at City?

One of my favourite things about City University is the diversity is has. For example, in my group of friends we are all from different countries and I have learned a lot about their cultures and heritage, something which I find fascinating.

What kind of things are you involved in outside of your course?

I am part of the Debating and Catholic Societies, as well as volunteering on a weekly basis in Open House, a program where we offer food to homeless across London. Also, last year I organised a fundraising trip to Kenya with my friends, where we provided students in one of the poorest areas with tables and materials for school.

What do you plan to do after you graduate?

After I graduate, I plan on doing the LPC (Legal Practice Course) and a training contract, in order to become a solicitor in the UK.

What would be your top tip for our applicants?

Be passionate about the degree you are applying to. Also apply to as many clubs and societies as you can to make more friends at University.
