Rupa Lakhani

City University London staff member Rupa Mistry

Widening Participation Projects Officer

020 7040 4242

Rupa has a BA in International Studies, Economic Development at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC Canada. Rupa loves to travel and has completed two study abroad terms, one at the University of Leicester in 2009 and the other at the National University of Singapore in 2010. Initially wanting to pursue a career in International Economic Development, she soon realised her passion for helping students as she often supported international students and those with English as an Additional Language while at university.

Rupa grew up in a small rural town in the United States, where she was one of the very few from her class to go on to university. When she moved to the UK in 2012 and heard about Widening Participation she knew it was the perfect job for her - combining her passion for helping students and informing those from backgrounds similar to hers about the benefits of going to university. Rupa now works as a Widening Participation Projects Officer coordinating events for underrepresented young people in London. Rupa says the best part of her job is working with such a diverse and dynamic range of students!
