Overview
Stuart is a Criminal Practitioner with experience at all levels of the criminal jurisdiction from the Magistrates' Court to the European Court of Human Rights.
Accepting instructions in all areas of criminal defence work, Stuart has developed a particular expertise in sexual offence cases involving children and in all types of case before Courts Martial.
Since joining the School Stuart has been instructed in a number of high profile cases, including Courts Martial in Germany and appellate cases before the Courts Martial Appeal Court.
Stuart is a door tenant at 2 Doctor Johnson's Buildings, the Chambers of Mark Love.
On the Bar Vocational Studies Course, Stuart is Module Leader for Criminal Advocacy. In addition, Stuart lectures in Criminal Evidence and Advocacy, is an LLM supervisor and has delivered LLB and GE.LLB Evidence seminars.
Stuart is a member of the BVS Programme Committee, the BVS Staff Student Liaison Committee, the BVS Extenuating Circumstances Panel and sits as a Chair of Academic Misconduct Panels.
Stuart visits undergraduate Law Schools across the country to deliver advocacy skills workshops as a member of the BVS Marketing Group.
Stuart is an international advocacy trainer with a reputation for designing and delivering high quality advocacy training programmes and trainer training programmes for lawyers outside the UK.
