About

Overview

Currently Newton International Fellowship (Awarded by Newton Fund/ British Academy/ Royal Society 2018 - 2020). At City she is working in a project entitled “Health policies and sociocultural diversity: a comparative study on childbirth services” with Professor Christine McCourt. In Brazil, since 2014, Maria Paula is Professora Adjunta in Social Anthropology at Universidade Federal de Ciências da Saúde de Porto Alegre (UFCSPA). There she teaches and conduct research projects. She also leads the Reseach Group Laboratório de Alteridades. Her key interests are Anthropology, Ethnography, Minorities collectives, personhood, body and health concepts.
