Alison studied Midwifery at Canterbury Christ Church University gaining her degree in 2005. She worked as a Staff Midwife on the Special Care Baby Unit at Maidstone hospital before leaving in 2007 to join City University to complete her Post Graduate Diploma in Children's Nursing. She is currently in the process of being part of a further redevelopment to the ward, increasing the capacity to 24 and adding gastroenterology into the ward speciality.
