Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) – guidance for staff, students and visitors

Most of City’s buildings closed on Friday 20th March. Face-to-face teaching has ended and staff are continuing to support students while working remotely.

by City Press Office (General enquiries)

The health and wellbeing of our students and staff remains our top priority.  As a result of the evolving situation regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we closed most of our buildings on Friday 20th March.

There are a very small number of exceptions.  For example, we need to continue to receive and process urgent IT deliveries and may open parts of the School of Health Sciences, if required, as part of the NHS initiative to utilise clinical spaces.

We have suspended face-to-face teaching and are providing online resources to replace, where possible, lectures and tutorials.

The vast majority of our staff are working remotely.

We and our Schools are communicating directly with staff and students to outline plans for the delivery of all programmes and related assessments. Our student guide to assessments can be found on the Student Hub.

We understand that students and staff may be worried about this news and ask that all members of the City community continue to support one another at this time.  We are taking steps to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students, staff and visitors, based on the latest public health advice.
