Officials from leading Chinese higher education institution explore areas of mutual cooperation with the School of Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering.

On December 4th 2019, City, University of London signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), one of China’s leading higher education institutions.

The visiting delegation included Mr Bo Jiang (Director of the Tianmuhu Campus); Dr Qixiang Cai; Deputy Director in the Planning and Development Office; Dr Sheng Zhang; Section Chief of Planning and Development Office; and Helen Yue from IBEXS Enterprises Ltd.

They were given a tour of City’s engineering and computer science laboratories and an audience with Professor Stan Newman (Vice-President, International).

Professor Newman said:

“As a result of fruitful discussions with colleagues from Nanjing we are looking forward to developing our partnership in the areas of education, research and innovation. NUAA is one of our most longstanding international collaborators and an important strategic partner for City.”

The NUAA visitors were received by SMCSE’s Dr Peter Popov, Associate Dean International; Mr Mark Hertlein, Head of Global Engagement, Office for Global Engagement; Ms Noomi Weinberg, Global Engagement Manager, Office for Global Engagement; and Mr Ian Gibbs, Head of Academic Enterprise.
