Iconic new Law School building due to be completed this summer.

City’s iconic new Law School building has been under construction for just over two years and is due to be completed this summer.
The building, which will act as a focal point for City’s Law School, includes staff offices, a new lecture theatre, a mock court room, a pro bono law clinic open to the public, a law library and specialist recording rooms.
The project is aiming for a sustainability rating of BREEAM excellent and employs ground source heat pumps, photovoltaic panels on the roof and a wide range of other sustainable features.
Cheryl Smitham, Senior Project Manager for the building project, said:
BAM, our principle contractor, has brought our vision for the building to reality by transforming the old site and two existing historic buildings.
They have worked excellently throughout the construction phase and I am looking forward to the building coming to life.”
Professor Sir Paul Curran said:
This beautiful new building represents the confidence that the university has in its outstanding Law School and will bring together professional law and academic law activity for the first time.
The interior of the building is taking shape and as can be seen in these photographs, the result is a flexible, interesting, airy and light working environment. I am certainly looking forward to the formal opening later in 2020”.
