The Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) student won the competition with his essay, ‘Banishing Banner Homes: Why the Supreme Court Should Separate Domestic and Commercial Equity’.

Elijah Granet, a Final Year student on the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) course at The City Law School, is the winner of the Property Bar Association’s Essay Prize for his essay, titled, ‘Banishing Banner Homes: Why the Supreme Court Should Separate Domestic and Commercial Equity’.
He wins £1000 and a copy of leading land law textbook, Megarry and Wade: The Law of Real Property. Additionally, his essay will be published in a forthcoming edition of Estates Gazette.
Mooting
Before coming to City, Elijah, from San Diego, California (USA), studied at the University of California, Berkeley, Columbia University, and Clare College, Cambridge University.
Elijah is delighted at taking top prize in the essay competition.
He also says “The City Law School has provided me with opportunities to gain legal experience in areas such as marshalling and mini-pupillages and representing the University as a finalist in the Southampton Inter-Varsity Mooting competition.”
He also contributes to legal journals and has written on diverse topics.
