Professor Chuah commented:
The City Law School takes pride in its illustrious history of providing quality maritime legal education and training. To respond to the growing demand for specialised legal services in the UAE, a leading maritime hub, The City Law School introduced last year an LLM Maritime Law, the first postgraduate qualification of its kind in the Gulf.
Our participation in regional industry events is a valuable opportunity to hear a range of fascinating perspectives from thought leaders in the shipping industry and beyond. We are therefore honoured to have partnered with EMAC in holding this important conference in the UAE.

The Dubai Marine Insurance Conference also formed part of UAE Maritime Week, of which the City Law School was a platinum sponsor. The event was held aboard the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II in Port Rashid, Dubai.
At Seatrade Shiptech Middle East, Pia Rebelo represented CLS, where she participated in a panel discussion on the importance of promoting women’s participation in the maritime industry. She stressed the need for continued recognition by academic institutions that certain barriers do exist for women, stating that CLS’s LLM Maritime Law programme is an inclusive programme that encourages people to pursue maritime law.
