Around 2,500 students made the short walk across the stage collecting their degrees at The Barbican Centre, in the heart of London.

Six students were chosen to speak during each of the graduation ceremonies, where they reflected on their time at City, the friendships they have made and the memories that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

Student speaker Julia Altit (BSc Economics 2019), Said: “It was a privilege to represent my class as student speaker.

“I shared so many special moments with friends at City and unfortunately it is a cycle that is ending now but I am leaving with so many great memories as I go on to work at JP Morgan.”

Madalina Perjoiu (BSc Investment and Financial Risk Management 2019), said: “I can still remember myself arriving in London for the first time getting lost at Old Street roundabout on my way to my accommodation and now three years later it is over!

“I am so grateful for my teachers and all the amazing people I have been able to meet. It has been a really diverse experience. It feels like the end of one journey and the beginning of another!”

“I really loved all of the modules on my course and enjoyed chatting to lecturers, getting to know more about their work and what we are studying.

“I also had the privilege to work in the Students’ Union and be a part of a sports team at City, so I am leaving with some great friends.”

Launch Lab resident with Shellpod Shampoo, Umadevi Dassaye (BSc Actuarial Science 2019), said: “It has been a long four-year journey at Cass as I did a placement year as well, but every moment has been worth it.

“My family were watching online in Mauritius and they have sent me the screenshots from when I walked across the stage!

“I am now going onto join UBS on their graduate programme and started in September, so exciting times ahead.”
