
City Law School academic presents research at conference on Nepal’s constitution
Dr Mara Malagodi, a Senior Lecturer in the City Law School, was one of several participants in the Conference on the Constitution of Nepal, held from 11th to 13th August in Kathmandu.
Dr Malagodi, who was featured in a Nepali Times article, presented a research paper titled, Constitutionalising Women’s Rights in Nepal.
The gathering of experts and academics discussed progress made in the intervening three years since the promulgation of the constitution in the areas of governance, inclusion and due process, together with the challenges presented in consenting to constitutional amendments.
The conference was jointly organised by Kathmandu University School of Law and the South Asia Trust.
Nepal’s President, Bidya Devi Bhandari opened the proceedings and Nepali Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli, gave the closing statement.
