City to host European Economics and Finance Society annual conference
Event to be held at City between Thursday 21st June and Sunday 24th June
Now in its 17th year, the event will take place between Thursday 21st June and Sunday 24th June. The conference will welcome economists and policymakers from across Europe and the rest of the world for a series of paper presentations and panel discussions.
Professor Francesca Cornelli, of London Business School, will be the keynote speaker on Saturday 23rd June.
The conference has a broad focus and will cover many areas in economics and finance, including macroeconomic theory and policy, financial markets and institutions, international monetary economics, banking and labour economics.
Professor Keith Pilbeam of the Department of Economics at City, is Secretary General to EEFS and the organiser of the event.
He said: “The Department of Economics at City is now ranked in the top 100 economics departments worldwide according to the Tilburg University list, based on research publications in leading journals. As such, it is an appropriate venue for the European Economics and Finance Society to hold its annual conference.
“City is an ideal venue for academics and policy makers from Europe and the rest of the world to debate issues pertinent to the European and global economy such as Brexit, trade relations, developments in labour and financial markets and how to improve macroeconomic performance.”
