Cass signs deal to open a new Fintech centre at Chengdu, China

Centre will develop key skills of financial service professionals

Cass Business School and BGTA, a Chinese corporate-backed accelerator, and the Chengdu Financial Holding Group (CFHG) have signed an agreement to create the Chengdu Fintech Research and Development and Training Centre.  The Centre will position itself as the preeminent provider of Fintech training in Sichuan province with a view to developing key skills among financial services professionals in China.

Professor Andrew Clare of Cass Business School, signed the agreement which was witnessed by The Right Honourable The Lord Mayor of the City of London, Charles Bowman, and the Mayor of Chengdu.

Dimitrios Fountas, business development director at Sir John Cass Business School, said:

“Through our partnership with the Chengdu Financial Holding Group and BGTA, we are keen to help Chengdu realise its vision of becoming a global Fintech hub and we stand ready to deliver the demand for training courses that will arise from this exciting venture.”

Helen Wang, CEO of BGTA, commented:

“Both agreements signed today align perfectly with BGTA’s mission to foster the development of the global tech and investment ecosystem while strengthening cooperation between the UK and China. The Chengdu Global Fintech Summit will be instrumental in driving progress in the region and the establishment of the training centre will be crucial to supply the newly-created ecosystem with high-level professionals.”
