Dr Sumsun Naher, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics, recently co-chaired ESAFORM 2017, the 20th International Conference on Material Forming. Her co-chair was Dublin City University’s Professor Dermot Brabazon. She contributed four research papers to the proceedings and chaired two technical sessions in the conference.
ESAFORM 2017, which was held at Dublin City University from 26th to 28th April, was attended by 400 delegates and brought together academic and industrial communities in order to share scientific and technical information about material forming.
Material forming refers to any manufacturing process in which products are given new shapes by casting or through mechanical deformation – forging, stamping or bending.
