City academic awarded Doctor of Science degree
City University London's Professor of Structural Dynamics, Professor Ranjan Banerjee, has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Science (DSc) in recognition of his original and significant contributions to the fields of structural dynamics and aeroelasticity, with particular applications to aeronautical engineering.
His pioneering research has been conducted primarily at City over the past thirty years and this has earned him both national and international recognition and prominence.
Professor Banerjee has always found his research intellectually challenging and satisfying. He is grateful to City's staff and students for their inspiration and support over the years. He adds:
"The opportunity to initiate and develop fundamental research in aeronautical engineering at City has been a great privilege, and it is particularly gratifying that the work has never been far from potential applications."
Structural dynamics is a type of structural analysis which covers the behavior of structures subjected to dynamic loading. Dynamic loads include people, wind, waves, traffic, earthquakes, and blasts.
