Helen Tupper wins Shell LiveWire Grand Idea Award

City University London student Helen Tupper (MA in Innovation, Creativity and Leadership (MICL)), has won a Shell LiveWIRE Grand Idea Award.

The award, a cash prize of £1000, is given to young entrepreneurs with the most innovative business ideas.

Helen is co-founder of Amazing If, a career development service aimed at young people seeking happiness in their careers. Helen and her business partner, Sarah Ellis, came up with the proposition that the millennial workforce seeks job roles offering fulfilment, purpose and flexibility. A period of research confirmed their premise and they proceeded to design a range of courses to help people take control of their career paths.

The courses have been pilot tested and have received satisfactory feedback. Amazing If will be launched at the beginning of 2014. Helen says:

"Winning the Shell LiveWIRE Grand Idea Award has been a magnificent experience for Amazing If. It has enabled us to fund our website and provided great publicity at an early stage of the business. The recognition given to us has been a confidence booster; this is essential when you're stepping into the unknown with a new venture."

Dr Sara Jones, course director for the MICL commented:

"We at the Centre for Creativity in Professional Practice are delighted for Helen. She is one of many talented students on our MICL and we wish her all the best for the future of Amazing If".
